The first and most critical step to being productive is setting quarterly goals. Think of these as your business’s GPS. Without them, you’re wandering aimlessly, unsure of where to focus your time and energy.
Here’s how I approach quarterly goal-setting:

Divide the year into four quarters. Each quarter should have a specific focus. For example, Q1 could focus on product development, Q2 on launching a new service, Q3 on building an audience, and Q4 on holiday promotions. - Plan Backwards
Start with the end in mind. If you’re planning a big event like an online workshop or a product launch, work backward to identify the steps you’ll need to take months in advance. - Write It Down
Whether you prefer good old-fashioned pen and paper or a digital tool like Notion or Trello, having your goals written down ensures accountability. Seeing your goals regularly keeps them top of mind and increases the likelihood of achieving them.
For instance, last year, I planned a Black Friday product launch. By breaking the goal into smaller steps and assigning each to a specific quarter, I was able to pull off my most successful holiday campaign yet. The key? Consistent planning and execution.

Once you’ve outlined your quarterly goals, it’s time to plan your content around them. A content calendar is your best friend when it comes to staying organized and on track. It helps when you’re passionate about your content!

Tools like Trello, Notion, or even Google Calendar can help you organize and visualize your content schedule. Personally, I use Notion to categorize themes, topics, and publishing dates. - Batch Your Work
Productivity skyrockets when you batch similar tasks. Dedicate a day to brainstorming, another to recording videos, and another to editing and scheduling. By focusing on one type of task at a time, you’ll avoid the inefficiency of task-switching.
For example, I recently sat down and recorded five videos in one day. Later in the week, I edited all of them and scheduled them for release. Use tools like Mailchimp or ConvertKit to set up automated email sequences. Whether it’s a welcome series for new subscribers or reminders for an upcoming event, automation keeps your audience engaged without constant manual effort. - Content Management Systems
As mentioned earlier, tools like Notion, Trello, or Asana can help you streamline your workflow, ensuring you always know what’s next on your to-do list.
By automating these systems, I’ve freed up hours each week to focus on what truly matters: creating high-quality content and engaging with my audience.
