Risa Haasbroek is a passionate life coach for solopreneurs. She helps them to find success in their business by addressing areas of mindset and motivation. They are then able to let go of the things that are not serving them well in order to focus on those key things that will move the needle in their business.
This week’s quick win: Learn about a few tiny tweaks that can make a big difference in becoming not only goal-setters but goal-hitters as well.
What Coach Risa and I talked about…
Risa’s story: Her journey from homeschool mom and novelist to her discovery of a new way to manage her time. We chatted about what kept her motivated in those early days. Risa is originally from South Africa and is a former homeschool mom. She migrated to the U.S. for better opportunities but realized that she and her husband wouldn’t be able to retire in the U.S., so she began her online business in order to earn additional income. She realized that God had placed some key desires in her heart.
“Whatever the desire the Lord puts on your heart, do not ignore your desire.” She encourages us not to doubt the desire God instills within us.
What are some of the main reasons solopreneurs get stuck in their business-building ventures? What is holding them back from moving forward or from their success?
Limiting beliefs and the things we tell ourselves. “It’s my fault”, or “I can’t trust myself” are the statements we’ll hear ourselves say. She recommends finding those beliefs and stomping them out. It’s possible to get rid of them. It’s called neuroplasticity which is a biblical concept of “renewing your mind”.
Romans 12:2. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
2 Corinthians 10:5. “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” Business-building is a huge character-training activity because you have to constantly tackle limiting beliefs and fears.
A quote to remember
“Your subconscious will only let you be as successful as you think you deserve to be.”
